چکیده

In this paper, we design and implement a prototypical heterogeneous distributed database system, named DIME (Distributed Information Management). DIME has the following salient properties. First, DIME allows both 810bat retrieval operations and global update operations where dzferent concurrency control schemes are used in dzfferent local database systems (LDBSs). Second, DIME implements international standard protocols on the distributed transaction processing and the remote database access. Last, DIME pravides distribution transparency, and thus users can generate not only single site queries (including remote site queries) but also inter-site queries without considering data distribution in LDBSs.

Development of an autonomous heterogeneous distributed database system: DHIM

In this paper, we design and implement a prototypical heterogeneous distributed database system, named DHIM (Distributed Heterogeneous Information Management). The objectives of DHIM are two-fold: one is to realize the global update synchronization mechanism which preserve the global serializability of concurrent executions and the local site autonomy in tightly coupled heterogeneous distribute...

Temperature modeling and emulation of an ASIC temperature monitor system for Tightly-Coupled Processor Arrays (TCPAs)

This contribution provides an approach for emulating the behaviour of an ASIC temperature monitoring system (TMon) during run-time for a tightly-coupled processor array (TCPA) of a heterogeneous invasive multi-tile architecture to be used for FPGA prototyping. It is based on a thermal RC modeling approach. Also different usage scenarios of TCPA are analyzed and compared.

Atomic Commitment in Grid Database Systems

Atomic Commitment Protocol (ACP) is an important part for any distributed transaction. ACPs have been proposed for homogeneous and heterogeneous distributed database management systems (DBMS). ACPs designed for these DBMS do not meet the requirement of Grid databases. Homogeneous DBMS are synchronous and tightly coupled while heterogeneous DBMS, like multidatabase systems, requires a top layer ...

Towards Interprocess Communication and Interface Synthesis for a Heteogenous Real–Time Rapid Prototyping Environment

Rapid Prototyping has been proposed as a means to reduce development time and costs of real–time systems. Our approach uses a heterogeneous, tightly coupled multiprocessor system based on off–the–shelf components as target architecture for an executable prototype, which is generated from the specification in an automated design process. Here, too, we aim to use existing tools and languages. But...
